About Us


The Centre for Sports Hypnosis provides a central resource of information and knowledge of sports hypnosis practice, training and research in the UK.


The Centre for Sports Hypnosis has 4 main functions:


  • Sports Hypnosis:
    Providing information about sports hypnosis for practitioners and the public.


  • Consultancy:
    Sports hypnosis and sports psychology for amateur, social and elite sportspeople.


  • Training:
    Workshops and training courses in sports hypnosis and related fields.


  • Research:
    Collating and funding research into the use of hypnosis in sport.

Gary Baker BSc(Hons)Psych DHP(NC) Dip.SportsPsych Cert.SportsHyp(CSH) MNRHP MNCH(Lic) 

Gary is a hypnotherapist and psychotherapist specialising in sports performance. As a mental coach, he works with sportspeople of all ages and levels, helping them to deal with sports-specific psychological problems. In addition he helps prepare athletes for upcoming competitions or turning professional, and to overcome injuries and slumps in performance. With a particular interest in golf psychology, Gary also regularly holds workshops and training courses at golf clubs. He is currently undertaking a Masters degree in Sport & Exercise Psychology, and BASES accreditation as a sports psychologist. His clients have included professional golfers, county/national level swimmers, tennis players and cricketers, and academy footballers.

Sports Psychology Advisor

Rob Robson MSc, C.Psychol

Rob is a Chartered Sports Psychologist and BASES Accredited Sports Scientist (Psychology/Support). A former international swimmer, Rob has worked in a wide range of sports settings up to World Class level, and now uses this experience as a business management consultant. Rob is also the co-founder of iStadia, a global community of sports professionals and athletes.
